CST is a cooperative institution that was established to integrate the know-how in separation technologies mastered by different LUT laboratories, with the main task of bringing the expertise of its member laboratories to be an advantage to its enterpriser members. To achieve this goal, CST
- endeavours to be the top academic institute of research in the area of separation technology by supporting the scientific credits and education of researchers of its member laboratories
- develops and manages research projects in order to produce and bring out new knowledge, using in this work its member laboratories and, when needed, other parties
- offers customised research services to its member companies, the results being contractually either publishable or confidential
