Summer is the time to be in Lappeenranta!
On a warm summer evening you can take a stroll on the harbour and maybe stop for a drink or to dine on one of the terrace boats. Cruises on lake Saimaa, the largest lake in Finland, are offered daily for those wanting to enjoy the serene nature and clear waters of Lappeenranta.

Massive forest resources and good transportation networks have enabled the growth of the forest industry in South Carelia. The largest forest cluster in the world is located in south-eastern Finland, with two international research centres located within 30 km from Lappeenranta.

Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) is a favourable birth place for new technology encompassing distinct know-how in separation technology and international co-operation.
