"EU-Russia Relations – Focus on Business and Energy" seminar was organized in Lappeenranta, Finland on May 27-28, 2009 by NORDI.
The keynote speakers of the seminar included Deputy Director General from Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Mr. Klaus Korhonen, Deputy Head, Mr. Paul Vandoren from the Delegation of the European Comission in Moscow, General Director, Mr. Sebastian FitzLyon from S.Zinovieff Co. and Senior Partner, Mr. Petri Saavalainen from CapMan Russia.
Topics of the seminar day provided perspectives to the EU-Russia relations and to the constantly changing economic environment. The seminar also covered topics like energy in EU-Russia relations, emerging entrepreneurship in Russia, influence of the economic crisis and innovations and investments in international business.
The speakers of the seminar included representatives from different sectors of Finnish and Russian business life, as well as political and academic world. This year’s seminar had special emphasis on enterprise viewpoints and there were many representatives of Russian as well as global companies attending the seminar.
The seminar audience consisted of representatives of local and international companies, governmental and administrative bodies as well as research institutes. The seminar gathered together around 210 participants from 10 different countries.
