Required documents 


REQUIRED ENCLOSURES TO THE APPLICATION

Documents can be submitted in Finnish, Swedish, or English. All copies must be officially certified by the awarding institution or a notary public. Please note also country-specific requirements for document certification. Applicants from certain countries need to pay special attention to the documentation before submitting them for admissions procedure.


After completing the template and printing it out, the following documents should be submitted to University Admissions Finland:
1. The application form, duly completed and signed
2. A copy of your Bachelor’s degree certificate/Diploma from an institution of higher education and its
    Finnish, English, or Swedish translation
3. A Transcript of Records/Grade Report which indicates also the grading system of the institution of
    higher education and its Finnish, English, or Swedish translation
4. An English language Academic test result TOEFL iBT 80/PBT 550; IELTS 6.0; Cambridge Certificate in
    Advanced English (CAE) or Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) level, A, B or C.
5. A copy of your passport  ID page
6. CV (optional)
7. Work references (optional)
8. Letters of recommendation (optional); Please note special requirements for the Business programmes!

Important! Required enclosures described above do not apply to the Master’s programme in International Technology and Innovation Management (MITIM). MITIM required enclosures are defined separately www.lut.fi/mitim.

Important details about the enclosures 
All translations of the required documents must be done by official translators or by an authorized official of the institution that has issued the original document. The translations must bear the stamp and signature of the translator. Please note that you must also send an officially certified copy of the translated document in its original language. All copies of the degree certificates /diplomas and transcripts/grade reports must be officially certified by the awarding institution or by a notary public.

All submitted documents will be examined for their eligibility and authenticity. In case the applicant submits forged documents, the application will be automatically rejected.

All language test results must arrive at University Admissions Finland by the application deadline. It is the applicant’s responsibility to make testing arrangements for her/himself in time. Register for the language test early enough!  TOEFL (www.toefl.org), IELTS (www.ielts.org) CAE or CPE (cambridgeesol.org).

You may apply to max. two different degree programmes at LUT. If you apply to more than one degree programme  you must submit a full application (with all the required enclosures) for each programme. However, only one language test score is needed. Only those applications which are fully documented will be considered for further processing.

Applicants who are still studying and will graduate after the application period must submit an official statement from their home institution stating the expected date of graduation or an officially certified copy of a temporary degree certificate to University Admissions Finland during the application period. Please note that the copy of the actual Bachelor’s degree certificate must be submitted directly to Lappeenranta University of Technology, Admission Services, PO Box 20, FI-53851 Lappeenranta, Finland by 13 July 2012, at the latest. Please make sure to attach your Application Form number to all of the documents. The Application Form number is printed on the top right hand corner of the Application Form you have printed out.

The admitted students will be required to present the original documents when they arrive at the University. If it is revealed that false information has been provided, the right to study will be revoked.

The application form and the enclosures will not be returned to the applicant after processing.
