Every LUT graduate is a LUT Alumnus, and is entitled to participate in Alumni activities.
The aim of the LUT Alumni Association is to facilitate networking, help members to contact and stay in touch with old class mates, and provide information and career updates. Members of the Association receive the LUT Open Your Mind newsletter, which is published six times a year, and other information about upcoming university events and training.
There are two annual alumni meetings organised by the LUT Alumni Association: The autumn event takes place in the Helsinki metropolitan area, with featured speakers including university experts and influential people from the corporate world. The spring event takes place in Lappeenranta in connection with the annual meeting of the Association. In addition, LUT organises various Alumni activities during the year.
As an active Alumnus, you may contribute to LUT by giving lectures and sharing your expertise with students, sponsoring Master’s Theses and offering trainee positions, participating in research cooperation, or making a donation.
The Alumni Association awards an annual Pro Alumni prize to a current LUT student who has made a significant contribution in terms of promoting LUT and being an active member of society.
