LUT will act as an IELTS off-site testing facility on February 26, 2011. The official organizer of the test will be Finnbrit, Helsinki. LUT is offering an English language test possibility for the candidates applying to the LUT’s Master Programmes in English. Also LUT students who are applying for a study abroad period can participate in the test. The test fee is 180 euros. Further two testing possibilities will follow during 2011.
IELTS is one of the most widely available English language tests in the world. IELTS is run by an international partnership of University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, British Council and IDP: IELTS Australia. The IELTS Academic module is intended to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is the language of communication.
IELTS includes tests of listening, reading, writing and speaking. The speaking test is administered face-to-face with a trained examiner. The total length of the test is 2 hours 44 minutes.
