The LUT School of Business has had repeated success in different national efficiency studies. The national developments, international competition and our university’s strategy are guiding the development of its operations into an even more competitive direction. Finnish business schools are in the process of developing their curricula to better suit the authentic two-cycle Bologna model. As an innovative business administration unit and a part of the European business school network, the LUT School of Business is in the forefront of responding to this challenge.
On Oct. 6th, the faculty council of the School of Business approved the new degree programmes and their names. The Bachelor’s programme has three specialisations:
• Management
• International Business
• Financial Management
The Finnish Master’s programmes are
• Accounting
• Strategic Management
• Knowledge Management and Information Networks
The international Master’s programmes in English are
• International Technology and Innovation Management (MITIM)
• International Marketing Management (MIMM)
• Strategic Finance (MSF)
International Marketing and Finance were previously in Finnish.
The reforms follow the LUT strategy more closely: MITIM together with a minor subject in Russian is in line with the Russia-related part of the strategy, and in planning the minor subject range, LUT Energy is in the focus. Also research projects being launched together with LUT Energy offer a good starting point for the development of School of Business course range.
