Guidelines for Current Students 


New Programme Curriculum

There have been some changes in the curriculum. Students already in the programme may follow previous curricula until July 31, 2012.

Note for Master's Students

Are you currently seeking a Master's Thesis topic? Use the "MIMM for companies" brochure to present the program to potential company contacts!

If you have credits for AC40A0210 Internationalization of the Firm and/or AC40A0501 Asiakassuhteiden hallinta in your Bachelor’s degree, you may not include AC40A0202 Internationalization of the Firm and Global Marketing and/or AC40A0502 Customer Relationship Management in your Master’s degree. If you have included AC40A0210 Internationalization of the Firm to your Bachelor’s degree, take two courses from the list of electives in the International Business focus area (AB30A0800 Managerial Finance, AC60A0400 International Accounting and Analysis, or AC60A0650 Organization and Strategy Work in Global Context).

If you are following the old curriculum and have AC40A0400 or AC40A0401 Research in Marketing Seminar as an obligatory course (6 ECTS), you may take one of the following courses instead: AC40A0900 Strategic Global Marketing Management (6 ECTS), AC40A0850 Contemporary Issues in International Marketing (6 ECTS), AC60A0600 Technology and Innovation Management (6 ECTS). If the Research in Marketing Seminar is included in your electives (7 ECTS), you should replace the old RIMS course with either AB40A0700 Empiirinen strategiatutkimus or AB40A0650 Organisaatioiden ja strategian taloustiede.

If you need only one or two credits in order to complete your Master’s degree and do not wish to exceed the required number of credits, you may take a complementary course entitled ‘The Managerial Skills and Expertise of an International Marketer’ (1 or 2 ECTS depending on the length of the essay). The course entails writing a reflective essay concerning the development of the student’s own expertise and skills in the field of international marketing during his/her studies at LUT. For more information regarding the essay requirements, please contact Hanna Salojärvi (hanna.salojarvi@lut.fi).
