Admissions to the MITIM program are carried out on a competitive basis to ensure the selection of the very best candidates. The estimated intake of new students at LUT for the academic year is max. 15 students.
The annual application period is January-February and studies start at the end of August. Applications to the program must be submitted in the electronic application system provided by the Finnish University Admissions service. Please note that all applicants, both international and Finnish, will apply through the same system.
Please note that applicants may apply to no more than two English Master's programmes of Lappeenranta University of Technology.
YOUR APPLICATION PROCESS BEGINS ONLINE
You can create a user account for University Admissions Finland already now and continue your application once the application period starts. As soon as the application period begins, you can log in to your account and continue with the application process by filling in your personal information and selecting the degree programme you are interested in. The information you give on the template will be compiled into a pdf-document, which will become your Application Form as you print it out.
The online template is divided into seven parts:
- Personal details (the address you give here will be used as your mailing address)
- Educational background
- Language skills
- Subjects to apply for
- Additional information
- Preview application
- Complete application
• The link to the University Admissions Finland online Application template (LUT template form) will be available at LUT web pages for Master's degree students.
The template form can be accessed only during the application period and is available in English or in Finnish. Please note that you need to have a personal e-mail address to be able to use the application system. You can make changes to your online template form only when it is a draft. At the Preview page of the template form you can still change the information. If you click the ‘Save information database’ button your application will be submitted and therefore no more changes can be made.
To complete your application you should:
1. Print out the the Application form. You can also send it as a pdf-document to your personal e-mail and print it out from there. After printing, you must sign the print-out to make it an official application
2. Collect all the required enclosures which are listed at the first page of the Application Form.
3. Send the signed print-out to the University Admissions Finland mailing address with the enclosures. Please make sure to attach your Application Form number to all of the documents. The Application Form number is printed on the top right hand corner of the Application Form you have printed out.
Please make sure that your application and the enclosures reach the University Admissions Finland by the application deadline. Late applications will not be processed.
When you have submitted your printed and signed Application Form and the requested enclosures, your application process is finalized and the information gathered from your educational documents will be added into the University Admissions database. Lappeenranta University of Technology uses the services of University Admissions Finland for the pre-processing of applications. Pre-processing includes sending out notices of receiving the applications and requests to send missing documents, as well as verifying the accuracy and authenticity of the applications.
