I liked the MITIM programme for many reasons. First of all, the courses were taught by professors from two universities. This fact brought a wide perspective into the subjects. During the studies, I made interesting personal connections. Also the requirement to complete a traineeship as a part of the programme was an outstanding feature. It boosted the practical relevance of the studies.
During one course, we had to find a promising technological innovation and make a short, but persuasive presentation of it, aimed at attracting potential venture capitalists to invest in the project. My team was able to provide convincing arguments and present them with inspiration and confidence and, ultimately, win the competition which was a part of the course. This experience played a significant role in helping me understand that skills in selling a great idea are often as important as the idea itself!
I am currently working in the field of technology and innovation management. The key area of my responsibilities is to develop and ensure the successful rollout of new technical solutions for improving the business processes throughout the company globally. I think that the MITIM programme successfully combines the practical and theoretical sides of business! |

I think I made the best decision of my life
When I searched for Master’s programmes on the Internet, I found that the MITIM programme was very different from others. First of all, it is a double degree programme where you get a diploma from two countries. That is unusual and the real strength of the programme.
Also, the MITIM programme has very close contacts to the business world. This is important to me because I have my own company. During the programme, we had business seminars with high-level people from business. I met some of my most important business partners during these seminars. They have helped me to develop my enterprise at different stages. It is also possible to find employment in the companies involved in these seminars. This was the case for some of my classmates.
I also anticipated that studying in Russia would be interesting. It is amazing that many business people know nothing about Russia even though it is a huge market and covers two continents, Europe and Asia. Consequently, there is a real need for this kind of education, and only top universities in Europe can carry it out. LUT is definitely one of them.
I think the MITIM programme can truly be a driving force in the co-operation between Russia, Finland and the EU – and in my case also China. That is what the programme is all about. |
