10th CST Workshop, Mixing and chemical feeding,
Lappeenranta June 6-8, 2007
The need for separation technologies is increasing as environmental requirements tighten, the recycling of waste is increasing, and the purity requirements for the chemical industry are increasing. The LUT Centre for Separation Technology (CST, founded in 1997) organises annual international workshops on separation technology.
In 2007 the CST workshop will focus on mixing and chemical feeding. The topic is crucial in chemical, pulp and paper, food, mining, hydrometallurgical and pharmaceutical industries. The speakers from academia and industry are experts in single and multi phase mixing, modeling of mixing, micromixers, dosing systems and inline mixers. The workshop is intented for engineers working in research, design and industrial production in process industry and for students orientated to chemical technology.
Topics
- Stirred tanks
- solid-liquid mixing, solid mixing, liquid-liquid mixing, gas dispersion
- Selection and sizing of agitation
- In-line mixers
- Chemical feeding
- Micromixers
- Determination and measurement of mixing efficiency
- Modeling of mixing
