The projects and other operations of the institute complement the scientific, cultural, and educational offerings of the Lappeenranta University of Technology. This allows the Institute to contribute actively to the development of the cultural and educational operations in the region and strengthening its identity.

The cultural projects implemented by the institute include the celebration book dedicated to the Metropolitan Bishop Ambrosius published in 2005, the confiscated books exhibition held in 2006, and cultural strategy Creativity Binds Pieces Together from 2007.
