Science Night on Friday 4 November 


LUT opens its doors to the people of Lappeenranta on Science Night (formerly Researchers’ Night) on Friday, November 4th. Visitors have the opportunity to find out a great deal about science and scientists, the student culture and university community.

The public event in the evening will also be the launch of the Green Campus project, starting with the inauguration of the wind turbine in Tervahaudanpuisto at 17.00. The Green Campus theme and green values and solutions play an important role in the Science Night programme. For example, many different electric vehicles will be displayed. 

The lectures given during the event will mostly be given in Finnish, but many elements of the programme can be followed by non-finnish speaking visitors -LUT staff at the various stands is happy to present the contents in English. The stands of LUT units will be open until 22.00.

The event is free of charge and open to visitors of all ages.

LUT will provide bus transportation free of charge from the city centre (Koulukatu) to the university and back every half hour from 16.30 to 22.00.
