The goal is to create a new, innovative training and development concept for businesses at a national level. Its purpose would be to develop business activities and the professional expertise of personnel. The programme would produce specialists in the fields of business, product development and production to meet the needs of especially the plastic and metal industries, but without forgetting other production-related industries (e.g. mechanical wood processing).
Extensive development of expertise in businesses is necessary in order to maintain and improve the national and international competitiveness of industry. The objective is to launch a Future Products and Production development programme in Joensuu in the autumn of 2008. The programme will include the development programmes for businesses and “from Bachelor’s to Master’s” training programmes. The focus is on expanding expertise in the context of general development of business activities. Companies can connect the professional development of their staff to the overall development of the company: employees could complete training and assignments as a part of the company development programme.
