Student selections will be informed only via email

Language Centre will inform students about admission to language courses only via email (no lists will appear anymore at the bulleting boards). This practice stars at the beginning of the second period of the academic year 2009-2010.

Make sure that your e-mail in WebOodi is correct. Teachers inform students of admissions by e-mail. In addition, they may ask you to give additional information that may affect your admission. Keep an eye on your inbox after registration closes!

Unfortunately, there might not be enough room in some of our groups for everyone who registers. In such cases, teachers choose the students that they consider to take precedence. The admission criteria emphasise the completion of compulsory language and communication courses and that incompleted language studies should not stand in the way of graduation.

The order in which students register is not important.

Teachers receive the following information from Oodi to support the selection process: the student’s degree programme, starting year, number of ECTS credits completed, language and communication courses completed, additional information given in registration.

Students are informed of admissions on the working day prior to the start of the course, at the latest. If there is not enough room in the group for all applicants, a certain number of students will be wait-listed. Wait-listed students should contact the instructor after the first lesson and ask about cancellations. If a student who is admitted into a group is unable take the course, he or she should let the Language Centre know about it as soon as possible. This will allow wait-listed students to attend classes from the very start.

ATTENDANCE IN THE FIRST LESSON is required. With your attendance you secure your place in the group and receive all of the important information concerning the course.

Teachers will inform both the students who get admission to language course and those who possibly will not fit into the group.

Students are informed of admissions on the second period courses at the latest on Friday 23rd of October.
