Languages are not always learned in the classroom. They may be developed through a number of different channels:
- formal (courses in institutions that grant credit),
- non-formal (courses in places that do not grant credit – e.g. adult learning centres and occupational purposes) and
- informal (travel, work and leisure activities) means.
Therefore, an English Exemption Portfolio (EEP) option has been made available to those who feel that they already have a high proficiency in English that has been gained through work, educational and life experience.
