The STInno project is one of the four projects participating in the waste cluster initiative. The overall goal is to map technologies for industrial waste water treatment with a view of transferring sustainable technologies to olive mill waste water treatment. The project will lead to an exhange of experience and knowledge between research and business.
Project period is from 1 December 2009 to 30 November 2012.
Objectives
Specific S&T objectives of the STInno project are:
1. To strengthen the research potential and infrastructure of the participating EU regions in Finland, Sweden and Greece by encouraging and supporting regional industrial waste water treatment via regional research driven clusters.
2. To stimulate the clusters through the development of the Joint Action Plan.
3. To create the preconditions for reaching the future global market by preparing the Joint Action Plan implementation steps in industrial wastewater treatment for the participating regions.
4. To increase the competitiveness of the partner organisations through mentoring.
5. To deepen the understanding of ecological use of water resources.
6. To provide policy recommendations and suggest joint future actions regarding industrial waste water quality indicators and EU legislation.
