In addition to the business and technology courses, students can study language courses in the Language Centre. The centre provides courses at different proficiency levels in Finnish, English, German, French, Spanish, Russian and Chinese. The most popular course among international students is Finnish 1, where no previous knowledge of Finnish is required. Erasmus Intensive Language Courses (EILC) are not offered at LUT.
Beginners’ courses are available in all the above languages with the exception of English, Swedish and Russian. Language Centre studies do not focus exclusively on grammar – they also place a strong emphasis on multicultural communication. You will find further opportunities for self study at the Language Centre, where you can practise pronunciation, perform exercises or study online.
