Lectures and lecture materials

Attendance at lectures is usually only obligatory for some intensive courses and language lessons. However, you can often learn more and gain more detailed information by attending lectures than by reading exam books and lecture notes. We therefore recommend that international students attend all their lectures.

Many lecturers provide photocopies of their own lecture notes for students to use. These notes help students to follow the lectures, promote learning and aid students in their preparation for exams. These materials support, but do not replace, lectures.

You can buy lecture notes in Aalef, the university bookstore. Average prices are from EUR 5 to EUR 10. The lecturer will tell you whether lecture notes will be available either during the first lecture or via the course website. If you participate in the intensive course(s) organized by the LUT International Services lecture notes are free of charge and will be distributed during the first lectures.
