Many courses include tutorials as well as lectures. These deal in more detail with the topics discussed in lectures using presentations, calculations, demonstrations or laboratory work. Attendance at tutorials is normally obligatory. If you cannot find the time and location in the course schedule, please check the department’s bulletin board or course's Noppa and Blackboard pages.
Assignments consist of written problem-solving tasks or seminar papers prepared outside lectures and tutorials. These are completed in accordance with the instructor’s directions, working either individually or in small groups. Assignments are included in your final course grade. Information on tutorials and assignments can generally be found on the department’s bulletin board and the course website.
Laboratory work is performed independently either on your own or in pairs in accordance with the relevant instructions. The laboratory staff will help you to use the equipment.
