Quality Management

The quality policy of LUT is based on continuous assessment and development of all the activities in the university and promoting the well-being of the staff and students. The university maintains a quality management system which ensures that the university is able to operate in a reliable, ethical, efficient and quality-oriented way, taking the needs of customers and other stakeholders into consideration.

The quality management system of Lappeenranta University of Technology passed the audit process of The Finnish Higher Education Evaluation Council, FINHEEC on 2009. The audit is valid for six years, until March 2015. FINHEEC is a full member of ENQA (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education) and it follows ENQAs principles and guidelines.

Several degree programmes of LUT have passed the international accreditation and are awarded the quality labels. By accreditations, the university enhances the international comparability of degrees, facilitates student mobility and gathers valuable ideas to develop education.

The department of Industrial Management is nominated by FINHEEC as a national centre of excellence in university education in 2010-2012.
