The university’s quality management system is described in the main quality manual and subordinate quality manuals of faculties and other organisational units. These quality manuals include also process descriptions and procedures for key processes. The university’s quality management documents and other related material are available on the LUT intranet.
The main quality manual depicts the university’s quality policies and goals, key resources, the university’s management practices, the university’s key processes and their quality management, and practices related to the assessment, measurement and development of activities. The main quality manual lays a foundation for describing the entire quality management system of the university and gives both internal and external stakeholders a comprehensive picture of the quality management of the university’s different activities. The main quality manual depicts these activities and practices that apply to and obligate the entire university community.

LUT has published a guide to good teaching for the teaching staff of the university. The guide 'LUT teacher´s quality manual' promotes high-quality education at the university by explicating the role of its key actor – the teaching staff. LUT’s main quality manual emphasises the importance of the everyday work of teachers and teacher-student interaction. It offers tools for and insights into the implementation and development of one’s own teaching.

LUT publishes a Quality Guide for Studying and Learning, which is dirstributed in the beginning of the studies for all first-year students. The topics covered include student responsibilities vs. university responsibilities in teaching, studying and learning, learning-style analysis, motivation, career planning and a code of ethics. The guide aims to help students to recognize the individual learning styles and to further improve their learning skills.
