The conferment is the most prestigious of academic events. Its purpose is to confer either Master’s degrees or doctorates. LUT only arranges doctoral conferment ceremonies for the conferment of the degrees of Doctor of Science in Technology, Doctor of Science in Economics and Business Administration, and Doctor of Philosophy. In the ceremony, the doctors receive the doctoral regalia: a black doctoral hat, and for Doctors of Science in Economics and Business Administration and Doctors of Philosophy, also a sword.
