General About Job Hunting

Starting the Job Hunt

There is one rule that applies almost to everything – also to looking for a job: the more active, systematic and focused way of doing things, the better the results to be achieved.

When looking for a job - it all starts by figuring out and specifying your own skills, competence and interests first by and to yourself. What do you really want from your work, life and especially from your working life? Which could be the branches and positions in which you could use your skills and share your interests in the best possible way? After figuring out these things, the next step is to start looking for the potential employers and start looking for a job. In other words – when everything is first clear to you, it is much easier to market it for somebody else.

Remember that learning Finnish is more than crucial! Adequate skills in Finnish and also in other languages will help to smoothen your way on the Finnish labour market.
