After going through all the applications, the company usually invites 3-5 applicants for a job interview. The last two ones may very well be invited even for a second and final interview before the decision is made.
The interviewed applicants usually go through personal assessments, also. These aptitude tests are always done by the professionals and there are numerous amount of different kind of assessment methods. There is no way of learning the right way to answer during these assessments – you just need to answer the questions truthfully. The worst possible mistake when attending to a personal assessment would be trying to figure out about how it would be best to answer the questions in order to make myself look better in the employer’s eyes.

The employer may and often will require further details on the applicants - from the referees they have mentioned in their CV’s and/or from their previous employers. This can be done either before and/or after the interview.
The final decision is usually made in a certain amount of time – if you don’t hear anything from the company, you can inquire about the decision. In case of not being hired, you can and are even entitled to ask the employer for the justifications for not being the right candidate for them. The feedback will give you important information about your pros and cons and will, in that way, help you when applying for a job for the next time.
And remember that sometimes there are just too many good applicants – and only one who can be chosen for – even the very best ones are not always hired. So remember to keep up the positive spirit!
Good luck with your job hunting!
