According to the decision that entered into force at the beginning of the academic year, students may take part in an examination arranged for a course only twice. Enrolling for the course again the following academic year does not change this – if the student wishes to take the examination a third time, he or she must submit a written application. The limitation applies to the examinations of all LUT courses starting from the academic year 2010-2011.
When a student has used up the two examination dates
• he or she must submit a written application to take the examination a third time (an application form and procedure is being developed), and
• the teacher may require additional assignments from the student before granting permission to take examination again.
The university will monitor the passing rate of examinations more closely in order to address possible problems in instruction.
(Meeting of the vice-rector for education and heads of degree programmes, 2 November 2010)
The third examination is arranged on a date already indicated in the examination schedule. Detailed instructions and a form are being prepared and will be published on this web site as soon as possible.
