Video-conferencing is a global telecommunications system that establishes real-time, two-way audio and video transmission between parties. A video-conference may involve two or more parties at different locations. They all see and hear each other and can transmit audiovisual material to each other. Video-conferencing can be applied e.g. to negotiations and group instruction.
Teachers may use video-conferencing for instruction. The Learning Centre at the University of Kuopio has assembled simple instructions on the use of video-conferencing in instruction – practical arrangements, planning instruction, preparation and communication. Also the web site of the VideoFunet project contains information on video-conferencing.
