Q: What to do if I change my name?
A: If you change your name, please inform:
- firstly, the Student Affairs Office, where changes are recorded into Oodi
- the new information should be automatically delivered to the computer centre, but to make sure, it is advisable to report changes by e-mail to tunnuspalvelut@lut.fi
- to the library
- to FSHS

Q: Where to submit forms related to studies?
A: Forms filled out can be submitted to the Student Affairs Office service desk or dropped in the mail box outside the office (by the door next to the Information Office).

Q: Registration for the academic year
A:
a) If you have registered as a non-attending student but want to change your status to attending, please contact Merja Suhonen in Aalef (tel. +358 44 744 5502 or e-mail: merja.suhonen@aalef.fi) and ask her about the payment of the Student Union membership fee. After paying the fee, please send the receipt to the Student Affairs Office, accompanied by a note including your name, student number and a request to register as attending. The Student Affairs Office will change your attendance status in Oodi. If you have a username and password to WebOodi, you can register online for the spring semester in December. Information about the beginning of the WebOodi registration period will be posted on the Student Affairs Office web site.
b) If you have forgotten to register in the autumn, your status will be ” removed from register”. Thus you will have to pay both the Student Union membership fee and a re-registration fee, as well as fill in a registration form. The form and receipts must be delivered to the Student Affairs Office, where you will be registered as an attending student. More information can be found on the Student Affairs web page.
c) If you have been removed from the register or interrupted your studies for more than a year, in addition to the above-mentioned, you will have to write an application for the reinstatement of your study right and address it to the rector. Please deliver the application to the Student Affairs Office. After the rector has approved your application, you will be sent the decision on the approval, a registration form and payment details for the Student Union membership fee and a re-registration fee. By turning in the form and receipts you will regain your status as an attending student.

The graduates will then wait at the front of the auditorium until everyone has received their certificate.

Q: What is the deadline for exam registration?
A: Students must sign up a week before the exam, at the latest.

Q: How can I register late?
A: After the registration period, you can register at the Student Affairs Office until the day before the exam, during the office hours Mon - Thu 12 - 15 and Fri 12 – 14. The late registration must be done in person. In addition, a late registration fee of € 5 must be paid in cash.

Q: Is it possible to register on the day of the exam?
A: If the above-mentioned late registration the day before the exam is not possible for you, you can take the exam and write your student number, name and invoicing address on the supervisors’ list. In this case, a fee of  20 € will be charged, and you will receive an invoice from the Student Affairs Office after the exam. Your exam result will not be entered in the study register before the fee is paid.

Q: How to retake an exam?
A: By registering normally through WebOodi.

Q: What to do if I want to sign up for an exam or a course but cannot find it in WebOodi?
A: Make sure that you still have 7 days to sign up. Search for the course in question in WebOodi using the “Register here” function and enter the course number from the current study guide. If you still cannot find it, check the course information in study guide and the possible course web pages; registration might be required through another route. If the problem persists, contact the Student Affairs Office either by phone or e-mail (opinto@lut.fi).

Q: Which username should I use when logging on to WebOodi? What if I have forgotten my username and password?
A: You must use the same username and password in WebOodi as you do for logging on to the university computers (UNIX username and password). If you have forgotten your username or you have questions about the system, please contact the Origo service desk.

Q: What to do if I want to retake an exam but the course has disappeared from my course list?
A: Courses can be retrieved by using the “Register Here” function similarly to registering for the first time. You will notice that the search will first show your previous registrations for the same course. In the registration sheet should indicate that you are retaking the exam.
