LUT FiberLaboratory- Increasing the effectiveness of research services, 2010-2011:
The aim of the project is the technological development of FiberLaboratory facilites.
Filler-I, Increasing the effectiveness of filler usage in paper production, TEKES/ERDF, 2010-2011:
The project’s goal is to produce applied research data for increasing filler in paper. The project also aims at developing the dosage techniques of filler so that the filler content of paper, paper quality or process functionality is increased. The scale of the project is 650 k€
PulpVision, Imaging- and machine vision applications for fiber processing, TEKES/ERDF, 2010-2013:
FiberLaboratory, MILA, University of Joensuu, VTT and LUT/MVPR. 2,5 M€ / 4v, FiberLaboratory’s share is 1 M€.
Biorefinery / Paper properties of hemipoor fiber (Fubio), 2009-2011:
Large-scale project in the forest cluster. LUT Paper laboratory and FiberLaboratory are both involved. FiberLaboratory budgeting in 2009-11 is 140 k€.
KOSKE / Fiber-energy-lifecycle key project, ESF, 2008-2010 (FiberLaboratory key personnel):
The project involves funding key personnel (research professor, research director, researchers) to carry out projects, develop the infrastructure of the laboratory as well as cooperation with other companies in the field
Savonlinna FiberLaboratory 2010 – Developing the research environment of fiber- and process technology research, ERDF, 2008-2009:
The aim of the project was funding key investments for the development of FiberLaboratory operations and reinforcement of the research focal areas. The goal of the investments is to develop FiberLaboratory’s capability to improve the competitiveness, employment and new innovations in the region.
Savonlinna FiberLaboratory – Process research and analysing facilities, ESF, 2004-2007:
The equipment in the pilot plant and analysis laboratory of the FiberLaboratory were funded by the project.
Savonlinna FiberLaboratory – Personnel resources of the laboratory, ERDF, 2005-2007:
The wages of the personnel, primarily the director, working on launching the FiberLaboratory were funded by the project.
Optimising the feed of paper chemicals and improving resources for wet end research TEKES/ERDF 2003-2006:
The project investigated how the effect of paper chemicals and retention agents could be improved by optimising their feed. In addition, basic resources for carrying out research in this field were created e.g. by purchasing moving belt former for the FiberLaboratory.
Paper chemical feed: Optimising the feed of fillers and sizing chemicals, TEKES/ERDF 2006-2007:
The project was continuation to the work initiated in the previous project. The focus was on optimising the feed of fillers and sizing chemicals, with special emphasis on their simultaneous feed.
