Project summary
The research project NORA, Northern Rail Traffic, studies a new railcar model, maybe analogous to containers, which can be used in transporting e.g. raw materials to the factories and products to customers, in order to reduce the total costs in transport. Loading and unloading to trains is fast, and the railroad (especially the Trans-Siberian Railway) provides a connection to and between Europe and Asia. This study concentrates on the customer requirements, markets, and estimation of production possibilities of such railcars.
