Process Development 

Another focus area of the research, process development, develops new manufacturing methods and equipment for the processing industry. The central areas of expertise in the sector include intensification, modelling and simulation, design methodology, process safety, and the development of new processing equipment, especially multi-phase reactors. The field has excellent international networks. The Department of Chemical Technology is the Finnish representative in three EFCE working groups, one of which it also chairs: the European Federation of Chemical Engineering, the Working Party on Computer Aided Process Engineering, the Working Party on Process Intensification, and the Working Party on Education.
