The research in the area of Fluid Dynamics has been active since the University was founded. The current research team have publications starting from the year 1981 as the research in High-speed Technology started. Few years later we started to investigate high-speed centrifugal compressors and today there is active industry in Lappeenranta commercializing this technology.
We have also made serious research in the area of steam and gas turbines as well as small size special processes to develop environmental friendly and less energy consuming equipment.
