The laboratory has been developing its teaching methodology to comply to the requirements of the renewed education in Finnish Universities of Technology.
Presently 6 of our courses (2 to 4 credits) are following new learning schedules:
- students get the material from WebCT, which the teaching platform in the web. It can be accessed freely anytime and practically from anywhere with web connections.
they study material on their own. The main context is further explained in WebCT
to solve 2-3 problems before lectures.
- to take a quiz of 8 - 10 questions. Those that have an acceptable tally of points will be awarded an extra point in the exam.
- the lectures are designed to deepen the acquired knowledge and more interactive atmosphere is preferred
The course platform is restricted solely to the participants of the course. Most part of the material, the study tools, general information and notice board are accessed from one site. It also offers internal discussion and chat rooms.
The Quiz properties are versatile. There can be single or multiple type questions and even essay type problems. The instructor can build an database, from where the questions can be randomly extracted. The system automatically evaluates the answers (not essays) and keeps a complete record of the course.
