Energy technology refers to technology and systems needed in energy production, transfer, distribution and use. The objective is to give students sufficient basic knowledge of the different types of power plants and their safety and optimisation, and to teach them about components related to energy processes, such as boilers, burners, reactors, turbines, compressors, pumps and refrigeration techniques.
The power plant types include e.g. combustion plants, and steam, nuclear, gas turbine, and wind power plants. The key points dealt with in the studies are energy efficiency and ecological issues.
