Research

Environmental technology research focuses on municipal and industrial systems. The research deals with key areas in need of development and ways of developing and improving them from the perspective of technology, environmental impacts, economics and business.

Systems here refer to, among others, waste management systems including everything from source separation to waste recovery and disposal, energy production systems from fuel source to energy and flue gas emissions, or paper-making systems from the raw material source to paper production and finally recycling.

From technical viewpoint, environmental technology research emphasises on technologies and processes which aim at energy content recovery and thermal treatment of by-products. The degree programme boasts a state-of-the-art research laboratory and unique pilot-size CSC and Biower equipments suitable for conducting research and test on demanding solid fuel combustion.Tutkimus
