Mechatronics specialists are needed in the design and manufacture of modern multi-technical machines. Machines need to be increasingly intelligent, autonomous and able to adapt to changing situations. They may include mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics and information technology, which together determine the operational properties and life of the machine. Graduates from this field understand the interaction of these technologies and take it into consideration in the design and manufacture phases. Mechatronics is a multidimensional field, and mechatronics specialists are in increasing demand.
Graduates are usually employed by:
- construction machine manufacturers, process machine manufacturers, machine manufacturers in the electronics industry, etc.
- manufacturers and importers of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic power transmission components and programmable logic devices and motion controllers
- universities, research institutes and universities of applied sciences
Professional tasks usually involve:
- management positions and tasks requiring expertise in product development and design
- marketing
- manufacture
- teaching and research
