The Laboratory of Machine Design is located in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Lappeenranta University of Technology. The laboratory has participated
actively in large national and international projects financed by industrial companies, the Academy of Finland and the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (Tekes), among others. Laboratory graduates have been successful and risen to distinguished positions in the domains of both industry and academia.
The mission of the Machine Design Laboratory is to perform high quality and internationally respected research in the field of dynamic systems. The laboratory also serves national as well as international industry as an expert organization and performs applied research. The laboratory provides students with a sound mechanical engineering education especially in multibody dynamics, simulation and modelling.
