Laboratory of Technomathematics 


In addition to coordinating a Master’s programme, the Laboratory of Technomathematics provides the students of LUT with basic skills in mathematics.

Both Finnish and international university students are eligible for the Master’s Programme in Technomathematics. The major studies are part of a Master's programme in English. Applicants are required to have a Bachelor’s degree.

Research at the Laboratory of Technomathematics focuses on inverse problems (centre of excellence of the Academy of Finland), forest surveying by remote sensing, technologies for monitoring paper quality, wavelets in image processing, Kalman filtering, numerical methods in computational fluid dynamics, computational modeling of materials, and research on and application of fuzzy logic.
