The Department of Mathematics and Physics offers a two-year Master's Degree Programme in English aimed at both Finnish and international students. The programme is worth 120 credits and includes coursework of 90 credits and a Master’s Thesis of 30 credits, leading to a Master of Science in Technology degree. The application period for the programme is in January-February annually. The programme has two alternative major subjects, Technomathematics and Technical Physics.
Students majoring in Technomathematics should have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, applied mathematics, computer science or equivalent discipline. The aim of the major subject is to prepare the student professionally and academically in mathematical and computational skills in industry and other research and development tasks. The programme also provides the student with readiness for post-graduate studies and independent research.
Students majoring in Technical Physics should have a Bachelor’s degree in the field of physics or discipline near to physics.
