Fluid dynamics research concentrates on issues involving fluid dynamics in especially energy and chemical technology processes. In addition to wide-ranging expertise in fluid dynamics, areas of emphasis include the computational research multiphase flows and flows in revolving machines. The contents of the research varies from high-quality basic scientific research to the behavioural research of application processes. The faculty applies the commercial software programmes FLUENT, CFX and Finflo, the open source programme OpenFOAM, and its own computational models.
