Alongside traditional packaging, the development of new technologies has also generated a new type of business called functional and smart packaging. Mechanical, equipment and tool engineering and rapid adaptivity have great importance in this area. LUT’s packaging technology research focuses on the development and manufacture of future adaptable packaging lines. Long-standing cooperation with top businesses in the field has resulted in new, innovative solutions for the packaging industry. LUT coordinates related research as a part of the Forest Industry Future centre of expertise programme.
