Extensive Collaboration 

The faculty conducts research cooperation on a large scale with a number of public and private sector bodies. The focus is on scientific research that creates new knowledge. Applied research, on the other hand, aims to solve technical problems. The faculty also provides certain development and consulting services for industry, which are not research per se. The most important sponsors for the research carried out by the faculty are the Academy of Finland, TEKES, the EU (incl. the ESF and ERDF) and business enterprises.
