The Department of Industrial Management at Lappeenranta University of Technology is the oldest Finnish unit in the field, as well as the largest research and training unit of its kind in the Nordic countries. The department has wide, well-established networks of connections in industrial research in Finland and abroad.
Bachelor's and Master's Degree Programmes in Industrial Management are ASIIN e.V.-accredited degree programmes (the label was awarded on 28 June 2011). The quality label is certificate of high-quality engineering education, international recognition of the degrees and a guarantee of continuous development of education.

A national centre of excellence in university education
The Finnish Higher Education Evaluation Council nominated the Department of Industrial Management as a national centre of excellence in university education in 2010-2012.
