The research focuses on the transitional economies of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. The research projects are often joint-funded in collaboration with other universities, research institutes, businesses and the public sector.
The research projects are carried out in close cooperation with the Northern Dimension Research Centre (NORDI).
