In accordance with the university’s latest strategic policies, also the Faculty of Technology Management focuses on the surrounding society and its different actors in various ways and through different connections. The faculty promotes the creation of business enterprises and a way of thinking that is in line with industrial management and information technology. The research conducted by the faculty results in the establishment of technology enterprises.
Students graduating from the faculty with a Master of Science (Technology) degree are a significant asset to the surrounding area. More than one third of the graduates from the Department of Industrial Management and nearly half of those from the Department of Information Technology find their first job in Eastern Finland. The faculty itself employs, for example, young researchers and postgraduate students.
The regional units of the Faculty of Technology Management in Lahti and Kouvola cooperate with entrepreneurs in the region, educational institutions, municipalities and other public organisations. Their personnel participates, for example, in the administration and activity of regional organisations, as well as in the preparation of regional strategies, programmes, etc.
