Information Technology - highway to future 

The Department of Information Technology has been nominated as a centre of excellence in education and one of its research groups, Machine Vision and Pattern Recognition Group, as a center of excellence in research in the university.

The Degree Programme in Information Technology was started in 1985, and the Department of Information Technology was founded in 1987. The degree programme provides students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills which are needed in design, product development, management and educational tasks in the ICT industry.  

An increasing number of ICT professionals are needed, so our graduates have excellent job opportunities.

The main research fields of the Department are machine vision and pattern recognition, software engineering, and communications software.
