Laboratory of Information Processing - highway of information processing and understanding 


The Laboratory of Information Processing was established in 1988. It aims at producing new solutions in the field of intelligent information processing and software technology. The research focus is on digital image processing and analysis, as well as on practically oriented software production and data systems.

Moreover, the laboratory provides instruction in basic information technology and computer science for the other departments of the university.

The laboratory has a wide national and international cooperation network. It coordinates East Finland Graduate School in Computer Science and Engineering (ECSE) and is involved in the activity of Northern Dimension Research Centre (NORDI) and Technology Business Research Center (TBRC).
