Cooperation witn an Impact 

The faculty carries out applied research in close cooperation with the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (TEKES) and with industry. The Academy of Finland plays a significant role in this collaboration by funding basic research. In addition, the faculty participates in extensive EU level research projects. In 2007, the Academy of Finland evaluated the research unit of machine vision and pattern recognition in connection with its national evaluation of information technology research. As a result, the Academy of Finland stated that it was impressed by the quality of research and encouraged the unit to continue carrying out their current plans.
