CEID - Centre of Computational Engineering and Integrated Design

CEID (Centre of Computational Engineering and Integrated Design) supports LUT's strategy in the areas of scientific computation and industrial process modelling.

CEID operates under the LUT School of Engineering Science, but it also integrates university-level research into its focus area.

The purpose of CEID is to conduct top research in scientific computation and integrated design, and to promote co-operation between various laboratories and research groups at LUT as well as their networking with Finnish and foreign research groups. CEID offers research services in its field of expertise to the industry.

The centre also strives to promote education in computational technology in Finland. To realize its mission, CEID develops and coordinates the use of computational methods in research and teaching, participates in research programs at the Academy of Finland and Tekes (the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovations), and manages collaborative projects between various LUT laboratories.

CEID coordinates the development of computational resources and software in computational engineering and integrated design and organizes education for researchers and scientific seminars. CEID also offers research services in its field of expertise to the industry.
