Anisur R. Faroque, DSc (International Business), PhD (International Business & Entrepreneurship), is an associate professor in the School of Business and Management at LUT University, Finland. Dr. Anisur has many years of teaching experience along with administrative responsibilities as the Head of the Department and Chairperson of various committees at the department and school levels. Having teaching and research experience in four different countries in Europe, Asia, and Oceania endows him with cross-cultural literacy and the understanding of the unique needs of diverse students. His research interests are in the marketing, international business and entrepreneurship domains, and include opportunity recognition, market orientation, entrepreneurial orientation, internationalization, networks and cognitive heuristics and biases in decision making. His research has been published in journals such as Industrial Marketing Management, International Business Review, International Marketing Review, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing, Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing & Logistics, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business, International Journal of Emerging Markets, and International Review of Entrepreneurship, among others. As an active networker, Dr. Anisur regularly participates in the international academic forums and presents research findings in the conferences such as the Academy of International Business (AIB), European International Business Academy (EIBA) annual conference, Vaasa Conference on International Business, and IMP, among others. He won the Best paper awards at the EIBA annual conference in 2017 (in the SME and Internationalization track) and Vaasa Conference on International Business in 2019. Dr. Anisur is the Head of Global Marketing at Glostars Oy (, a Finnish startup that is developing an online platform for enthusiastic photographers and creative content providers, since October 1, 2017.
